The dome is raised from sheet, which keeps it hollow and light rather than solid and dead. The bell is the design. It is raised from flat sheet in two halves, seamed at the waist, and hung so it swings clear of the lobe. 40 pearls follow the line of the piece rather than filling it.

Jadau setting means the gold is warmed and pressed around each uncut stone rather than gripped by claws. Every stone has to go in before the piece cools past working temperature. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
