The bell is the design. It is raised from flat sheet in two halves, seamed at the waist, and hung so it swings clear of the lobe.
The filigree is drawn wire, twisted and soldered into place. The wire is fine enough that a moment too long under the torch takes the whole section. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
