513 diamonds run to 38.58 carats. None of them were bought to a size; each was selected for where it would sit.
That is 513 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.
The celestial forms are scattered at uneven intervals, which is harder to balance than a regular repeat. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
