408 diamonds in one piece, each selected rather than ordered to a specification. Sapphires carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

408 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent. 145.83 grams of gold, worked thin behind the design so the weight sits where the wearer can carry it.

Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
