Ruby Petal Diamond Earrings Yellow Gold

The petals are domed and set with a lift, so they curl the way a real one does. Two parts, separately hung, which is what gives the movement its second beat.

66 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 8 rubies carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

Drawn, made and finished in one workshop, which is the only way tolerances this fine hold from the first sketch to the final polish.

The leaves alternate along a single stem, so the eye reads growth rather than pattern. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
