Rouge Floret Collier Diamond Necklace Set White Gold Ruby

Each floret is built separately and set at its own height. Necklace and earrings were drawn as one, so the ear repeats the neckline without copying it.

717 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. The rubies are graded against the diamonds for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together.

That is 731 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.

The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
