102 diamonds in one piece, each selected rather than ordered to a specification. 68 rubies carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

170 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent.

Flowers carry it, each head built separately and set at its own height so the surface is never flat. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
