The drop is jointed below the top, so it answers the movement of the head a beat late.

88 sapphires run to 17.59 carats. None of them were bought to a size; each was selected for where it would sit. The diamonds are graded against the sapphires for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together. The diamonds are white throughout, which sets the boundary the colour is read against.

Drawn, made and finished in one workshop, which is the only way tolerances this fine hold from the first sketch to the final polish.

The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
