680 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. The rubies are graded against the diamonds for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together. A third stone enters at the margins, held back so it accents rather than competes.

693 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece. 129.31 grams of gold, worked thin behind the design so the weight sits where the wearer can carry it.

The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
