That is 913 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it. At 114.36 grams the piece has to be built hollow where it will not be seen, or it could not be worn for long.

Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
