180 diamonds in one piece, each selected rather than ordered to a specification. The rubies are graded against the diamonds for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together.
182 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent.
The celestial forms are scattered at uneven intervals, which is harder to balance than a regular repeat. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
