The blooms repeat across the piece at a steady interval, each one shaped before it is set. The bell is the design. It is raised from flat sheet in two halves, seamed at the waist, and hung so it swings clear of the lobe. The pearls run along the form, 40 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.

The relief is raised from the reverse with hammer and punch, working the metal up rather than cutting it away. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
