674 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece.
Foliage runs through the piece as a continuous line, which asks every join between sections to disappear. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
