Necklace and earrings were drawn as one, so the ear repeats the neckline without copying it.

636 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 5 emeralds carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

That is 641 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.

The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
