466 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 5 emeralds carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

471 stones, seated one at a time. The spacing is what takes the hours, not the setting itself.

The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
