That is 864 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.

Flowers carry it, each head built separately and set at its own height so the surface is never flat. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
