188 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. The rubies are graded against the diamonds for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together. A third stone enters at the margins, held back so it accents rather than competes.

208 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent.

Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
