74 rubies, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 62 diamonds carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone. The diamonds are white throughout, which sets the boundary the colour is read against.

Drawn, made and finished in one workshop, which is the only way tolerances this fine hold from the first sketch to the final polish.

The geometry is held strictly. Every angle repeats, and a degree out shows against its neighbour. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
