The drop is articulated below the lobe, jointed so it moves independently of the top rather than swinging as one piece. 114 emeralds follow the line of the piece rather than filling it.

The stones are set the jadau way: gold softened over heat and worked up around each one, with no claw and no solder showing. The order matters, because once a stone is bedded the metal beside it cannot be reheated. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
