The blooms repeat across the piece at a steady interval, each one shaped before it is set. Top and drop are hinged separately. That joint is what gives the movement its second beat. The rubies run along the form, 132 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.

That is 160 settings, cut and closed one at a time. Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the rubies do not fight the diamonds. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
