Green Cabochon Leaf Motif Necklace White Gold Diamond Emerald

The leaves are shaped one at a time and set at varying angles, so nothing reads flat. It hangs as a single line and comes to its point at the front.

1,281 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. The emerald is graded against the diamonds for tone first. Stones that read correctly on their own can still fight when they sit together.

That is 1,282 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it. 112.85 grams of gold, worked thin behind the design so the weight sits where the wearer can carry it.

Foliage runs through the piece as a continuous line, which asks every join between sections to disappear. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
