198 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 18 emeralds carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

216 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent.

Built on a grid with the spacing held exactly, so the rhythm carries the design rather than any single element. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
