361 stones, seated one at a time. The spacing is what takes the hours, not the setting itself.

The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
