The curve is worked into the metal rather than assembled from straight sections. Top and drop are hinged separately. That joint is what gives the movement its second beat. The pearls run along the form, 102 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.
Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the emeralds do not fight the pearls. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
