It is built in linked sections rather than one rigid piece, so the curve follows the throat instead of standing away from it. The surface is close-set: 315 pearls with almost no metal showing between them.

Jadau setting means the gold is warmed and pressed around each uncut stone rather than gripped by claws. Every stone has to go in before the piece cools past working temperature. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
