510 diamonds in one piece, each selected rather than ordered to a specification. Tourmalines carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

510 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece.

The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
