Floral throughout, and the petals are domed rather than cut from flat stock, which is what gives them their lift. Top and drop are hinged separately. That joint is what gives the movement its second beat. The pearls run along the form, 140 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.

The stones are set the jadau way: gold softened over heat and worked up around each one, with no claw and no solder showing. The order matters, because once a stone is bedded the metal beside it cannot be reheated. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
