The section holds its thickness the whole way round, which is harder than tapering it and is what makes a bangle sit right. The surface is close-set: 392 diamonds with almost no metal showing between them.

That is 458 settings, cut and closed one at a time. The diamonds and rubies are matched for tone before anything is set, which takes longer than matching for size. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
