It is built in linked sections rather than one rigid piece, so the curve follows the throat instead of standing away from it. The surface is close-set: 202 pearls with almost no metal showing between them.

Jadau setting means the gold is warmed and pressed around each uncut stone rather than gripped by claws. Every stone has to go in before the piece cools past working temperature. Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the pearls do not fight the diamonds. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
