Each floret is built separately and set at its own height. It hangs as a single line and comes to its point at the front.

599 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 10 rubies carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

609 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece.

Flowers carry it, each head built separately and set at its own height so the surface is never flat. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
