The setting lifts the stone away from the finger, which is what lets light through the pavilion. Only 36 diamonds, so each one has to sit exactly where the design puts it. At 3.49 grams there is nothing spare. Every gram is doing structural work.

Drawn, made and finished in our own workshop, which is how the tolerances stay tight enough that the joins do not show. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
