532 diamonds in one piece, each selected rather than ordered to a specification. 210 pearls carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.
That is 742 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.
Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
