Built on a grid, with the spacing held constant so the eye reads the rhythm rather than the individual units. It is built in linked sections rather than one rigid piece, so the curve follows the throat instead of standing away from it. At 124.54 grams the metal has to be built hollow in places or the piece would be unwearable.

The stones are set the jadau way: gold softened over heat and worked up around each one, with no claw and no solder showing. The order matters, because once a stone is bedded the metal beside it cannot be reheated. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
