Layla Polki Necklace Set

Necklace and earrings share one motif, worked at two scales so they read as a pair without repeating exactly. The surface is close-set: 930 diamonds with almost no metal showing between them. At 111.68 grams the metal has to be built hollow in places or the piece would be unwearable.

Jadau setting means the gold is warmed and pressed around each uncut stone rather than gripped by claws. Every stone has to go in before the piece cools past working temperature. The diamonds and pearls are matched for tone before anything is set, which takes longer than matching for size. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
