The set works because the earring is a fragment of the choker, not a separate design placed beside it. The pearls run along the form, 143 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.

The stones are set the jadau way: gold softened over heat and worked up around each one, with no claw and no solder showing. The order matters, because once a stone is bedded the metal beside it cannot be reheated. Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the emeralds do not fight the pearls. 18KT gold holds the settings rigid where 22KT would move.
