The bell is the design. It is raised from flat sheet in two halves, seamed at the waist, and hung so it swings clear of the lobe. The emeralds run along the form, 120 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.
That is 200 settings, cut and closed one at a time. Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the emeralds do not fight the pearls. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
