That is 520 individual settings. A single hand carries the whole run, because two setters will always close a grain slightly differently and at this density the eye catches it.
The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
