3,029 diamonds, 99.33 carats between them, every one chosen for its place in the piece.

3,029 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece. At 197.45 grams the piece has to be built hollow where it will not be seen, or it could not be worn for long.

The composition is floral, and the blooms are opened to different degrees so the repeat never reads mechanical. Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
