254 diamonds, sorted and matched before a single one was set. 7 emeralds carry the colour, and the two are matched to one another before anything is set, which takes far longer than matching for size alone.

261 settings, all cut and closed by hand, and all by one setter so the pressure stays consistent.

Nothing here is applied after the fact. The structure and the ornament were drawn at the same time, which is why the piece has no unresolved back.
