539 diamonds run to 25.38 carats. None of them were bought to a size; each was selected for where it would sit.

539 settings, each cut and closed by hand. Work at that count is measured in weeks at the bench rather than days, and it is given to one setter so the tension stays even across the piece. At 118.3 grams the piece has to be built hollow where it will not be seen, or it could not be worn for long.

The design was resolved before the first stone was ordered, so the settings follow the drawing rather than the drawing accommodating the stones.
