It is built in linked sections rather than one rigid piece, so the curve follows the throat instead of standing away from it. 150 pearls follow the line of the piece rather than filling it. At 141.76 grams the metal has to be built hollow in places or the piece would be unwearable.
That is 302 settings, cut and closed one at a time. Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the emeralds do not fight the pearls. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
