Jadau setting means the gold is warmed and pressed around each uncut stone rather than gripped by claws. Every stone has to go in before the piece cools past working temperature. Colour goes on in thin coats, each fired and levelled before the next. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
