The bell is the design. It is raised from flat sheet in two halves, seamed at the waist, and hung so it swings clear of the lobe. The pearls run along the form, 60 of them, spaced so the metal still shows.
Two stones in one piece means sorting both for colour first, so the rubies do not fight the pearls. 22KT gold is soft to work and unforgiving to finish.
